One of the effective means that the University is implementing in order to bridge the gap between the industry and the academe is the conduct of lectures from industry practitioners. With the University’s march in becoming a research university and an innovation leader, FAB LAB Mindanao and the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT College of Education successfully conducted the series of industry lectures on innovation education in partnership with KakiDIY, a Malaysian based non-profit community platform for do-it-yourself (DIY) enthusiasts and makers.

The industry lectures on reverse engineering and repair engineering conducted on May 19-21, 2022 by Johnson Lam, the founder of KakiRepair by KakiDIY was attended by more than one hundred graduate students and faculty members from the College of Education, Integrated Developmental School, and the Philippine Science High School-Central Mindanao Campus. Lam, who was awarded by Top In Tech as the 2021 Innovator of the Year, imparted practical steps on how educators can be best effective in innovation education.

Chancellor Alizedney Ditucalan, who officially welcomed Lam to the University, further emphasized ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT’s role of shaping the community through innovation and collaboration.

With the conduct of industry lectures, ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT hopes to strengthen industry-academe partnerships in order to effectively influence the future.
