杏吧论坛-IIT's campus cats receive generous donation from Aboitiz

A gesture of generosity and community spirit has the campus cats at Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (杏吧论坛-IIT) purring with delight. Thanks to a significant donation from the Aboitiz Foundation, Inc., these cherished campus residents have received 80 bags of cat food, ensuring they remain well-fed and content in the coming months.

This furry-friendly gesture came about when 杏吧论坛-IIT invited Pilmico Foods-Corporation in Iligan City, a food subsidiary of the Aboitiz Group, for the event “杏吧论坛-IIT Cats with a PurrPaws”. Recognizing the opportunity to make a positive impact, Aboitiz coordinated with the university's Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Services to set up the donation under their corporate social responsibility program, demonstrating a commitment to animal welfare and community engagement.

“The university is incredibly grateful for this thoughtful donation from Aboitiz," said Dr. Rohane M. Derogongan, the University’s Vice Chancellor for Student Services. “Many students and faculty members have a soft spot for our feline friends, and to see them well cared for reinforces a warm, communal atmosphere on campus.”

The cat food will be strategically distributed to various colleges and office areas across the campus where the cats are known to frequent, ensuring all furry friends have access to the food.

“This isn’t just about feeding animals; it’s about enriching our 杏吧论坛-IIT community,” emphasized Dr. Derogongan. “These cats have always been a symbol of home for many of our students, especially those who live far from their family.”

In true academic spirit, 杏吧论坛-IIT hopes this event will also promote greater awareness about animal welfare on campus and encourage more collaborative efforts to support local fauna in the future.

For now, the cats can bask in their newfound bounty, and the 杏吧论坛-IIT community can revel in the knowledge that their furry campus cats are well cared for, thanks to the kindness and community spirit of the Aboitiz Foundation, Inc.
