At a Filipiniana and Barong Tagalog themed event, 240 were recently honored by ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT at its annual Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Awarding Ceremony held on July 10 at the University Gymnasium.
Forty-six were recognized for their work and achievements in teaching, research, and extension and 194 for their years of service in the University.
This year, chemist and Premier Research Institute of Science and Mathematics Director, Prof. Mylene M. Uy, received the Gawad Tsanselor para sa Natatanging Guro ng Pamantasan (Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Faculty of the University).
Prof. Imelu G. Mordeno from the College of Education (CED) was named for the Gawad Tsanselor para sa Natatanging Siyentista ng Pamantasan sa Larangan ng Edukasyon, Kalakal, at Agham Panlipunan (Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Scientist of the University in the Field of Education, Commerce, and Social Sciences).
Prof. Arnold A. Lubguban from the College of Engineering (COE) was chosen as the recipient of the Gawad Tsanselor para sa Natatanging Siyentista ng Pamantasan sa Larangan ng Agham at Teknolohiya (Outstanding University Scientist in the Field of Science and Technology).
Prof. German V. Gervacio from the College of Arts and Social Sciences (CASS) received the Gawad Tsanselor para sa Natatanging Alagad ng Sining at Kultura (Chancellor's Award for Outstanding Artist in Arts and Culture).
For the staff members, Mr. Jaypee Yongco from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Enterprise (OVCRE) won the Gawad Tsanselor para sa Natatanging Kawani Pang-Administratibo ng Pamantasan (Chancellor’s Award for Outstanding Administrative Employee of the University).

ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT also honored the 194 employees with 10 or more years of service in the university, and awarded each a plaque and token of appreciation.
Civil Service Commission (CSC)-Region X Director Noemi Rabe-Torres, who was represented by CSC-Lanao del Norte Director Alona Carumba, congratulated the awardees and said “You are truly the heart of Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology. Your passion inspires us all. You should be proud of yourselves by making a profound impact in your community and it is something that we should celebrate.”
In closing, she encouraged ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT employees to continue their work being done at ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT.
“Continue to be excellent, strive towards even greater accomplishments. Continue to be excellent in your contribution to help ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT achieve its long term goals as well as in achieving our collective aspiration for our beloved country, the Philippines,” she said.
