ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT commenced the week-long celebration of its 56th Charter Anniversary with an opening program in the afternoon of July 9, 2024, at the University Gymnasium. Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan and the Vice-Chancellors officially opened and declared the celebration of the Charter Anniversary.
To kick off the festive days, a group performance and mass dance competition between the different clusters took place, dancing to the hit summer song “Pantropiko” by Bini, a rising girl group in the country. This dance competition was done to bring a livelier opening salvo to the Charter Day Celebration.
The different pairing of clusters for this year’s celebration are CEBA and OC, CCS and OVCAA, CHS and OVCAF, COE and OVCSS, CED-IDS and OVCPA, CSM and OVCSI, and CASS and OVCRE.
Chancellor Ditucalan gave an inspiring message and even participated in an impromptu dance with the crowd. In his message, he emphasized that this year’s theme, “ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT: A University with a Heart for the Community, " is a powerful reminder of the University’s steadfast commitment to integrating academic excellence with a profound sense of social responsibility and community service.
The Vice-Chancellor from the lead office for this event, the Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Administration and Finance, Atty. Yaslani B. Bantuas provided the series of activities that will occur until July 12, 2024, during the opening program– a Family Day Amazing Race occurred in the morning of July 9; to award employees for their service and outstanding performance, the annual Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) will be held on July 10; on July 11, during the Alumni and Community Day, a Zumba Dance Fitness and Medical and Optical Mission will be organized; and on Charter Day, July 12, there will be a Motorcade of the clusters in the morning and a Social Night to conclude the event.
The opening program of the 56th Charter Week ended with an awarding of the Pantropiko mass dance where CASS and OVCRE were declared champions.
