Three students from the MS Environmental Science program at Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT) have been selected to participate in an internship under the Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP).
Zy Perpetua, Jeron Bet Tejano, and Vincent Cui embark on a six-month internship from May to October 2024, focusing on Marine Sediment Monitoring, Recycling, and Utilization at the National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) in Taiwan.
The students work with NKUST professors Dr. Chiu-Wen Chen and Dr. Cheng-Di Dong, contributing to advanced research techniques in marine sediment monitoring.
This internship is the result of the strong partnership between ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT and NKUST. In February of this year, both universities signed a Memorandum of Understanding, solidifying their commitment to academic and research cooperation. Dr. Frank Paolo Jay B. Albarico and Dr. Hernando Bacosa played a crucial role in making this internship possible through their collaborative efforts.
The internship provides students with real-world application of their knowledge and reinforces the ties between ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT and international institutions, contributing to their future roles as environmental science leaders.
