The Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT), through the Institute for Policy Innovation and Leadership (IPIL), recently completed the 2023 Citizen Satisfaction Index System (CSIS) Project in the Iligan City Local Government Unit (LGU). Consequently, a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the civil society organizations was conducted on May 14, 2024, at the University Boardroom at the CEBA Building.

The Focus Group Discussion (FGD) was conducted to have an in-depth discussion on the initial results of the CSIS. This activity ensured that the citizens’ voices, the sole data source in generating CSIS survey results, were represented in the development of LGU plans. As the FGD progressed, intervention activities and plans were proposed by the CSOs to address service delivery gaps in the communities. These plans and proposed interventions, as articulated by the participants, shall be incorporated in the formulation and enrichment of the Citizen-driven Priority Action Plan.

The attendees included select Civil Society Organizations within Iligan City that advocate for the welfare of the citizens and represented local government service areas including health, support to education, social welfare, government and response, public works, and infrastructure, environmental management, economic and investment.

Also present were the project team from IPIL, who serves as the partner Local Resource Institute of DILG, and the representatives from DILG-Iligan Office. The representatives from different CSOs were the main participants since they are deeply involved in improving society and human conditions. Lastly, these organizations are acknowledged and accredited organizations of the local government.
