ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT) has reaffirmed its commitment to international collaboration by renewing its Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with University of Limoges (UniLim) in France.
The renewal ceremony took place on April 11 at the Seda Centrio Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City. It was made possible through the efforts of the Department of Physics of the College of Science and Mathematics, which has been instrumental in fostering successful collaborations between the two universities.
This mutually beneficial agreement highlights the shared commitment of both universities to advance education, research, and cultural exchanges. With a strong emphasis on strengthening friendship and cooperation, the renewed MOU aims to create a solid foundation for future endeavors.
The objectives of this framework agreement are to foster equity, reciprocity, and mutual understanding between the universities and their researchers. By promoting and developing academic cooperation, both universities seek to contribute to the advancement of knowledge and global understanding.
The renewed partnership between ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT and the University of Limoges will facilitate the following areas of collaboration:
The signing ceremony was attended by Institute for Ceramics Research (IRCER) Director Philippe Thomas and Asst. Prof. Romain Lucas-Roper, both from UniLim; Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan; Vice Chancellor for International Affairs, Dr. Joey Genevieve T. Martinez; PRISM Director, Dr. Mylene M. Uy; faculty members from the Department of Physics, and personnel from the Office of Communications.
During their visit to Cagayan de Oro from April 8 to 12, Asst. Prof. Lucas-Roper conducted an online lecture for ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT students on the topic "Organic Chemistry for Ceramics." Additionally, Director Thomas and Asst. Prof. Lucas-Roper engaged in research discussions with the Department of Physics, further enhancing academic collaboration.
