With the theme, “Marching Towards Culinary Excellence and Innovation: Honoring the Influencers of the Future Into the World of Culinary,” 72 Hospitality and Tourism Management 4th-year students were recognized for their academic achievement in the 5th Toque and Pinning Ceremony held at the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT Gymnasium on April 3, 2024.

The ceremony was attended by Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan, their guest speaker, Sous Chef Julius V. Primor, College of Economics, Business and Accountancy Dean, Dr. Maria Rizalia Y. Teves, faculty members and students of the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, and parents.

Chancellor Ditucalan opened the program with his message and highlighted the impacts of their actions on their personal lives and the global culinary scene. “Your creativity, ethics, and passion are tools with which you’ll craft your legacy,” he said.

Sous Chef Primor, who currently works at the Limketkai Luxe Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City, urged the students to never give up on their dreams and always to strengthen their resolve to become successful chefs.

The donning of the toque and the giving of pins is a symbolic mark of the students' years of hard work and preparation to take on more challenges and responsibilities in the real world.
