The College of Health Sciences (CHS), Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT) in collaboration with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology of Iligan City (BJMP-Iligan City) on April 12, 2024 launched a new program for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) held at the BJMP-Iligan City.
The half-day program entitled “Mga Nars kaabay sa Kalusugan ug Kaluwasan Project para sa PDL (Persons Deprived of Liberty) BJMP-Iligan City,” with PDLs attending from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, kicked off with an opening remarks from ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IITs Professor Rosario L. Reserva, PhD, Director of Extension, WECARE Office of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Public Affairs (OVCPA).
It was subsequently followed by a brief message from CHS Dean Abdullah Junior S. Mangarun, DScN, MAN, and then a presentation about the History of Partnership between ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT CHS and BJMP-Iligan City by AJ.O. Walter W. Mainit.
Following this was a discussion about the Rationale of Project and Future Plans for BJMP-Iligan City delivered by CHS faculty Assistant Professor Lynuel R. Santillana, MAN, RN and Associate Professor Jiddo Andrei G. Maranda, MN, RN, who also hosted the event.
And then, afterwards, was the distribution of hygiene kits, the presentation of Certificates and Tokens, a photo op session, and then it ended with a closing remarks from BJMP Iligan City Jail Warden JCINSP Carlo F. Obrique.
