Despite the fact that the health threat lingers as we return to work in the new year, I welcome everyone back and wish all had a restful holiday break spent with loved ones and friends.
The year 2020 was indeed an uncertain time that forced ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT to steer a wise course through the challenges brought by the coronavirus pandemic. Your dedication and commitment to duty while operating under alternative work arrangements not only enabled our University to deliver its mandates on instruction, research, and extension but even allowed it to make important progress.
The pandemic hastened our University’s employment of innovative and flexible delivery of academic programs, as well as the development of its ICT capabilities. It also spurred our own experts to come up with innovative solutions to counteract the spread of the coronavirus and have their opinions and inputs sought by policy-makers in the LGU.
As we look ahead to 2021, it is expected that we will be facing and fighting headwinds to come, and realizing our year’s plans and projects and spending for these will need to remain prudent.
However, I am confident, given what University constituents have shown last year, that ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT is capable of surpassing whatever problems may come in 2021.
I also invite more of our alumni, who are making a difference everyday across the globe through leadership and public service, to take part in advancing their Alma Mater’s mission of changing lives through education.
Thank you all for everything that you do towards the continuing success of ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT.
I wish you all a healthy 2021!
