CHS faculty present research at 2025 International Conference on Primary Health Care with Interdisciplinary Efforts: Evidence to Impact

Dr. Neil M. Martin and Assistant Professor Roy D. Gumayao of the College of Health Sciences (CHS), Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT), presented their research papers at the 2025 International Conference on Primary Health Care with Interdisciplinary Efforts: Evidence to Impact, held from March 20 to 22, 2025, at The Jockey Club Auditorium, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Special Administrative Region (SAR), China.

Organized by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University in collaboration with the Joint Research for Primary Health Care and other partners, the conference aimed to foster knowledge exchange and interdisciplinary collaboration among researchers, practitioners, and stakeholders in primary health care.

Dr. Martin presented during Concurrent Session 1.4, delivering a paper titled Self-Assessment on Mental Health Status and Degree of Attitude Towards Physical Activity Among Junior and Senior Students in Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology. The study was co-authored by Michelle Kaye A. Clamotcha, Hanna L. Gumama, Wench Ryechelle Sodoso, Lynuel R. Santillana, Reya T. Seno, and Vincent G. Tabil.

Meanwhile, Assistant Professor Gumayao presented in Concurrent Session 2.2 with his paper, Profile and Level of Menstrual Hygiene Awareness and Superstitious Practices Among Junior High School Students in Southern Philippines. His co-authors were Lauren Jovee S. Asino, Chayrelle T. Tinggas, and Abrylle Jara A. Yurong.

The international conference featured key sub-themes, including Continuity and Continuum of Care, Implementation Science, Stakeholder/System Innovation, Resilience and Mental Health, Capacity Building, and Traditional Chinese Medicine and Complementary Therapies.
