In celebration of International Women’s Month, the Department of Physical Education (DPE) of the College of Education, in collaboration with the WE CARE Office, successfully conducted the Wellness and Beauty Program for Women in the Workplace on March 27–28, 2025, at the IDS Mini Theater.

The two-day program was one of the extension activities of DPE, which aimed to promote positive behavior and improve productivity among women employees in the University.

The activity, which was attended by faculty, staff, and students from different colleges of the university, consisted of a series of lectures.

The first lecture was from Mark Ryan Ligue, a former President of Iligan Make Up Artists Association, who talked about basic make-up application. This was followed by a discussion of the importance of taking good care of mental health, given by the nurse coordinator of the mental health program at Iligan City Health Office, Michael Roy Jimenez.

Part of the program was also the provision of complimentary manicure, pedicure, massage, and haircut services to employees.

The wellness and beauty program for women in the workplace was spearheaded by Dr. Junah L. Nagba, project leader of the said extension activity.

“This program is not only about enhancing physical appearance, but also about fostering holistic well-being and self-care among women in the workplace. It’s a reminder that taking time for ourselves can lead to increased productivity, happiness, and success, Nagba said.
