Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan joyfully announced the allocation of 100 additional faculty positions approved by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) today, September 23, during the university's flag-raising ceremony. This announcement follows closely on the heels of an official communication from the DBM released on September 17, which outlined the approval based on the standards set for State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).

The approval of the DBM to allocate 100 Assistant Professor IV positions to Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology (ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT) is seen as a significant boost to the University’s academic capabilities.

Chancellor Ditucalan expressed his gratitude and outlined the impact of these new positions on the university. “With the addition of these 100 faculty positions, we are poised to enhance our educational offerings and elevate our academic standards,” he stated.

The Chancellor also highlighted the process that led to securing the new positions. "Our relentless commitment to meeting and exceeding DBM's standards and the provisions of the organization and staffing standards for state universities and colleges has been pivotal. We are extremely thankful for Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman’s positive response to our needs, which reflects their support for our mission to provide top-quality higher education.”

In addition to the 100 faculty items, DBM also included the provision of the promotional rank of Associate Professor V that may be reclassified through National Budget Circular (NBC) No. 308.

Chancellor Ditucalan is optimistic about the future of the university with these new roles. "This development is not just a quantitative increase but a stride towards qualitative enrichment of our educational landscape. We are eager to welcome aboard the new faculty members who will bring fresh perspectives and enhanced dynamism to our academic community,” he added.

The funding for these positions, amounting to PhP 81,109,660.00, will come from ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT’s increased annual budget earmarked specifically for such expansions, ensuring that the process of integrating the new faculty will proceed smoothly without financial hurdles.

Applications for the new positions are expected to open soon, inviting educators from various disciplines to become part of a leading educational institution committed to excellence and innovation in teaching and research.
