Fun in the air as ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT constituents gather for 56th Charter Anniversary

ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT commemorated its 56th Charter Anniversary with a fun-filled social gathering at the University Gymnasium on July 12, 2024. The event brought together faculty and staff members in a display of camaraderie and joy that filled the air with excitement and cheer.

The day’s celebration began with an early morning motorcade around the city, followed by the university social that started in the afternoon with a unity dance to Bini’s Pantropiko by employees wearing summer fling-themed outfits.

Competitions (Cluster Chant, Community Sing and Dance, and Mr. and Ms. Head Turner) were held and participated in by the different clusters. A raffle draw also took place; winners bringing home prizes - sacks of rice and kitchen appliances.

A special highlight of the festivity was the mass singing of “Happy Birthday” which marked the significant turning of the University to its 56th year since its founding in 1968. 

The College of Engineering emerged as champions in the Cluster Chant and Community Sing and Dance contests. The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration and Finance (OVCAF) came in second place, and the College of Science and Mathematics (CSM) placed third in the Cluster Chant competition. 

The College of Education and Integrated Developmental School won second place and CSM came in third place in the Community Sing and Dance contest.

Johanna Jiel Padogdog from the College of Health Sciences, Denica Marrie Caranda from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Strategic Initiatives, and Sorainie Oga from the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Services were recognized as the top three Ms. Head Turner.

Chancellor Alizedney M. Ditucalan, Carlo Stephen Moneva of the College of Science and Mathematics, and Marlo Novino of the College of Economics, Business and Accountancy were proclaimed the top three Mr. Head Turner.

The events of the week-long celebration of the Charter Anniversary were spearheaded by the OVCAF, in collaboration with the various committees composed of selected faculty and staff members coming from the various colleges and offices.
