The Office of Guidance and Counseling and the Organization of Student Peer Facilitators and Learning Assistance Volunteers conducted an Enrichment Activity, Tribute Program, and Year-End Fellowship with the theme, “Bridging Gen Z: Strengthening Referrals and Collaborations for Furthering Inclusivity and Fostering Student Well-being.” The activity was held on December 6, 2023, at the College of Education (CED) Amphitheater.
The resource person for the activity was Asst. Prof. Yasmira P. Moner, Focal Person of the Gender and Development Center of ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT, who shared on, “Bridging Gen Z Talk,” which centered on Gen Z identity, SOGIE, and Safe Spaces.
In her talk, Asst. These include LGBTQ, Sex, Female, Male, Intersex, Queer, Gender Non-conforming, Two-spirit, Outing, Gender Dysphoria, Gender Neutral, and others.
Asst. Prof. Moner also discussed Republic Act No. 11313 or the Safe Spaces Act (Bawal Bastos Law). She pointed out that this law “covers all forms of gender-based sexual harassment (GBSH) committed in public spaces, educational or training institutions, workplace, as well as online space.”
The program also featured an open forum where participants were allowed to raise queries and concerns related to the talk. Awards were also handed out to Outstanding Peer Facilitators and Learning Assistance Volunteers.
