3 CBAA Faculty members hailed 2018 ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT Outstanding Employees

Asst. Prof. Marlo C. Novino and Dr. Alita T. Roxas recipients of the PRAISE College Faculty Extension and College Faculty Research Awards

 Dr. Alita T. Roxas of the Department of Economics, Asst. Prof. Beatriz Fina A. Canedo of the Department of HRM, and Asst. Prof. Marlo C. Novino of the Department of Marketing received the most coveted recognition in various categories awarded during the ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT’s Year-End Celebration on December 14, 2018.

Dr. Alita T. Roxas bested other equally competent researchers in the College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) for the College Faculty Research Award with her various research collaborations and publications nationally and internationally. It can be recalled earlier in an article posted by CNN Philippines this October, Dr. Roxas was one of the 19 prominent economists in the country invited to forecast the September inflation rate after the Philippines posted a 6.4% inflation rate last August, the highest inflation in nearly 10 years. She forecasted a 6.6% while the actual average inflation rate for September was at 6.7%.

Meanwhile, Asst. Prof. Beatriz Fina A. Cañedo emerged as the College Faculty Instruction Awardee after garnering an excellent Teacher Evaluation Rating (TER) for two consecutive semesters. Asst. Prof. Cañedo, now pursuing her PhD in International Hospitality Management, has been consistently bringing her students as national exhibitors to the prestigious Manila Mini Maker Faire, a nationwide gathering of makers in the country.

Asst. Prof. Marlo C. Novino with his various community engagements and extension activities received the College Faculty Extension Award. Asst. Prof. Novino, who just had a 6-week fellowship program in the United States of America, spearheaded the 5-month extension activity of CBAA dubbed as TEENPRENEUR: Iligan City Youth Entrepreneurship Congress and Patigayon Awards which aims to cultivate innovation and entrepreneurial mindset among the youth sector.
