The Mindanao Bridging Leaders Program or MBLP is a program of the Asian Institute of Management through the generous support of the World Bank and in partnership with the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process. The MBLP is a result of several fellowships of the AIM which have generated 33 Bridging Leaders to date such as Gen. Rustico Guerrero when he was with Task Force Comet in Sulu; Gov. Khalid Dimaporo for his health project in Lanao del Norte; Ms. Jainabl Abdulmajid for Patikul, Sulu; Mayor Tong Istarul for his education project in Basilan; Ms. Dedette Suacito, Executive Director of Nagdilaab Foundation; Gen. Raymundo Ferrer, current Brigade Commander of Western Mindanao; Mr. Jose Mari Oquinena from Gawad Kalinga; Mr. Sukarno Pendaliday of SSS-Cotabato City and many more.

The MBLP hopes to generate an additional 45 Bridging Leaders by April 2013.

The call for nominations/applications is the first of two calls. The second will be in October 2011 for a second batch of fellows under the program. Only 24 fellows will be accepted for the 1st Cohort of Fellows under the MBLP.

Fellows who qualify for the MBLP fellowship will undergo a combination of theoretical and practical exercises on the Bridging Leadership Framework and related concepts over a 15-month period mentored and coached by AIM faculty and resource persons. There will only be 4 workshops every 3 to 4 months lasting about 5 days per workshop over the 15-month period. The first workshop is scheduled on June 30 to July 4, 2011. The Program is structured such that, in between workshops, Fellows can continue to work in their organizations as they plan and regularly review their activities as they move through the various phases of the program. Fellows are expected to work on a real-life and existing program, addressing a specific societal issue, with well-defined goals to pursue. The MBLP will provide Fellows with access to resource providers and opportunities to engage and build partners and support for the program.
