The Physics Department of ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ - Iligan Institute of Technology is now open for applications for the Master of Physics (MOP), Master of Science in Physics (MS Physics) and Doctor of Philosophy in Physics (PhD Physics) programs.
The Physics Department of ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT is composed of thirty (30) faculty members with eleven (11) PhD degree holders, and nineteen (19) MS degree holders. Active research groups in the Department include Materials Science, Soft Matter & Biophysics, Radiation & Medical Physics, and Theoretical Physics.
The admission requirements and documents are the following:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree from a recognized institution.
- For Master’s program, a GPA of 2 or better in Bachelor’s degree is required. For Doctoral program, a GPA of 1.75 or better in Master’s degree is required. (Applicants who fail to reach the minimum GPA requirement are still encouraged to apply. Evidence of potential ability to pursue a graduate degree, i.e, performance in teaching or research will be evaluated.)
- Accomplished admission forms (2 copies)
- Photocopy of transcript of records. (2 copies)
- Photocopy of transfer credentials/honorable dismissal (for non-ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ alumnus). (2 copies)
- Passport size photo attached to the application forms.
- Photocopy of the official receipt of the admission fee. (2 copies)
- Letters of recommendation from two (2) former professors or experts in your field in sealed envelopes.
- 1 long brown envelope with the name of the applicant written on the upper left at the back of the envelope.
The Deadline for submission of documents will be on October 30, 2019. An interview will be conducted on November 6, 2017 (Wednesday), 9:00 am at CSM Room 117.

Applicants who wish to apply for a DOST scholarship, additional requirements are needed:
- Accomplished Application form
- Photocopy of birth certificate
- Photocopy of transcript of records. (1 copy)
- For Master program applicant, a letter of recommendation from a former professor in a sealed envelope. For Doctoral program applicant, two (2) letters of recommendation from former professors in the Master program. If the applicant is employed:
4.1. Recommendation letter from Head of Agency.
4.2. Permission to take a leave of absence (LOA) while on scholarship
- Medical Certificate as to health status from a licensed physician with his/her PRC license number indicated.
- Valid NBI clearance
- 1 long brown envelope with the name of the applicant written on the upper left at the back of the envelope.
