BS Industrial Automation & Mechatronics Program Educational Objectives and Outcomes

BS Industrial Automation & Mechatronics Program Educational Objectives (PEOs)

  1. Successfully employed in an engineering technology field or accepted into the graduate programs;
  2. Serve communities, whether locally, nationally, or globally;
  3. Effective in the design of engineering technology solutions and the practical application of engineering technology principles.

BS Industrial Automation & Mechatronics Program Outcomes (POs)

The following are the program outcomes of the Bachelor of Science in Industrial Automation & Mechatronics program of Ӱ̳. These are expected from the students by the time of their graduation:

Program Outcomes Common to all programs in Ӱ̳-IIT

  • To keep abreast of latest developments in the specific field of practice;
  • Effectively communicate orally and in writing using English, Filipino;
  • Work effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams;
  • Demonstrate professional, social, ethical, and environmental responsibility;
  • Preserve and promote “Filipino historical and cultural heritage” (based on RA 7722);
  • Advocate for peace in multi-cultural settings.

Program Outcomes Common to the Engineering and Technology Programs

  • Demonstrate inclination towards innovation and technopreneurship.

Program Outcomes Specific to Bachelor of Science in Industrial Automation and Mechatronics

  • Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering technology fundamentals and an engineering technology specialization to be defined and applied engineering technology procedures, processor, systems, or methodologies;
  • Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze broadly- defined engineering technology problem reaching substantiated conclusions using analytical tools appropriate to their discipline or area of specialization;
  • Designs solutions for broadly – define engineering technology problems and contribute to the design of system, components, or processes to meet specified needs w/ appropriate consideration for public health and safety;
  • Conduct investigation of broadly defined problem; locate, search, and select relevant data from codes, data bases and literature design and conduct experiments to provide valid conclusions;
  • Select and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modeling, to broadly-defined engineering technology activities, with an understanding of the limitations;
  • Design, configure, implement, and commission an automation system that can perform self- optimization, self-configuration and self-diagnostic, leading to the implementation of Industry 4.0;
  • Demonstrate an awareness and understanding of management and business practices such as risk and change management and understand their limitations.

Additional Outcome as a State University as Stipulated in CMO 46 s. 2012

  • Ability to generate new knowledge in the form of research or developmental projects to support national or regional and local development.
