Overview

Since its establishment in 1977, the College of Engineering (COE) has grown and matured into a respectable engineering school. COE offers eight (8) tertiary programs, six (6) of which were recognized by the Commission on Higher Education as Centers of Development in SY1999-2000 for three years and four (4) of these programs are currently accredited by the Accrediting Agency for Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP). In addition, it also offers three (3) masters degree programs and three (3) doctoral programs.

The College of Engineering consistently has very high passing rates in board examinations in various fields. Its graduates are much sought after by industries not only in the area but throughout the country.

August 15, 2007 marked another important milestone for the College of Engineering when Chancellor Marcelo P. Salazar formalized its participation in a national consortium of seven (7) universities tasked by Pres. Gloria M. Arroyo to produce researchers and scientists (MS & PhD in Engineering) through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Here, the college will be deeply involved in Engineering Research and Development for Technology (ERDT). More research activities are expected. Certainly, with this direction in place, the College of Engineering will be one of the best engineering schools in the country.
