The BS Hospitality Management is a four-year degree program designed to be compliant to the
Trifocalization on the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), Department of Education
(DepEd), and Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA), merging
requirements to establish a flexible, dynamic and strategic development in the Hospitality
and Tourism Industries.
The objectives of the revision of the curriculum are:
- To equip students with competencies that are needed to execute operational tasks and
management function in food production (culinary), accommodation, food and beverage
service, events planning, perform and provide full guest cycle services for front
office, perform and maintain various housekeeping services for guest and facility
operation;
- To produce food products and services and manage the operation complying with enterprise
standards;
- To plan and implement a risk management program to provide a safe and secure workplace;
- To ensure competitiveness of graduates through upgrading of training and qualifications
to match industry manpower requirements by year 2020; and,
- To establish and develop a system that will incorporate best practices on competency
standards based on the needs of emerging sectors of hospitality industry.
Admission Requirements
Incoming first-year students, shiftees, and including transferees from outside ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ system,
must satisfy the following to be admitted into the program:
- SASE/CET score requirement as determined by the offering campus;
- The student must be able to pass the interview and;
- Submit a medical certificate and must be physically fit.
Admission to the program is contingent upon the policies and guidelines of the Mindanao State
University – Iligan Institute of Technology, the College of Business Administration
and Accountancy, and the Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management.
