Overview

The College of Economics, Business and Accountancy (CEBA) is the pioneer college of ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳-IIT tracing its humble beginnings in circa 1964 with ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ extension classes of BSBA, major in Accounting as its lone degree offering. Today, after more than 50 years, it has expanded its programs to include:

  1. Bachelor of Science in Accountancy
  2. Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Marketing Management
  3. Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, major in Business Economics
  4. Bachelor of Science in Economics
  5. Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship
  6. Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management
  7. Master in Busines Administration
  8. Doctor in Business Administration

The quality of its programs has been a major factor for its students to win in national competitions such as BPI Sinag U, AGORA Youth Awards of the Philippine Marketing Association, PWC's Merger and Acquisition Challenge, and Deloitte Risk Challenge where CEBA teams land in top spots. This quality is supported by a carefully planned and designed teaching and learning experience for students, an aggressive faculty development program, adequate facilities, and other learning resources, and a commendable governance and management systems in place.

CEBA remains steadfast in its efforts to contribute to the wellbeing of its immediate and the national community through relevant research that is responsive to national research thrusts and sustainable development goals. Some of these research initiatives include its yearly engagement with the Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index project, a market validation study of an innovation for monitoring reproductive conditions of women, and contributing to World Bank Philippines's Mindanao Jobs Report project, among others. The faculty of CEBA is also active in sharing research results by participating in national and international research conferences and forums.

In addition, CEBA has been actively involved in promoting entrepreneurship competency development among local micro, small, and medium enterprises. It has strong linkages with the Department of Trade and Industry - Provincial Office, the Local Government of Iligan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation of Iligan, Inc., and various industries and has been recognized as an able partner in their capability building initiatives.

While it may be one of the smallest academic units in the university, CEBA continues to pursue excellence as it journeys toward the next 50 years.
